Comparison between Rough Cut and Final Piece
In the rough cut the main difference is that there is no title sequence. We added the production company using Motion and the credits for the final piece. There were other little changes for example there close up shot of the clock the ticking only lasted whilst it was on camera in the final piece it carries on. Also towards the end we added a shot of the symbol that connects all three of the girls together in our film 'Weirdly Connected'.
Problems...
Filming may have been fun but not easy! Also editing and recording the voice over proved to be difficult. But we overcome those challenges and got everything done just in time. One of the problems was the memory cards, myself and Faiza had to go out and film the close up shot of the phone in Faiza hand numerous time as when we inserted the SD card into the Mac it did not come up so went to the technical office and they gave us a new memory card and we filmed it again and saved it onto the Hard drive. This was not the only time the memory card gave us problems as when Karen recorded the voice over when we inserted the memory card into the Mac it didn't come so me and Karen came back at workshop on Tues and still it didn't work. So Karen kindly came in the next day at lunch time workshop and recorded the voice over again. I didn't have college on Wednesday so I couldn't come in.
Skills I've learnt
Throughout this whole experience of filming, editing and making this short film I've learnt many skills. I've about safety of camera equipment, new software I now know how to use such as Final Cut Pro, Motion, Prezi. Also, the use of blogging I learnt how to add images and GIFs onto the blog and YouTube videos.
Blogging Process:
We've had to blog throughout this whole experience, it is very important to keep on track and keep up to date. I have uploaded many blog posts such as progress reviews, so I know where I'm at and I can go back to it and see what I have yet to do. I have also been taking many pictures of what we've done and editing sessions that we all had a go at doing. We've also had to blog about what music we've chosen through creative commens which we did change many times. This is was difficult as we had to find a song that we all liked as it was a group effort and everyone had to agree also make sure it was copyright free.
Filming Process:
I think the best part of this experience for me was the filming it was fun and we learnt many different angles to shoot and how to get a steady shot using tripod, fig-rig also the JVC camera and flipcam. We also learnt about safety precautions such as taking a big umbrella so the camera doesn't get wait which was particularly important as whilst we were filming it was raining. Also locking the camera into place and getting the perfect shot. We filmed many different shots such as, pan out, tilt, high/low angle shots. When we were editing we used jump cuts.
Software's I used:
There are many different software's we used to make our film what it is and included in our blog posts. For example, the main one I think would be Final Cut Pro which I used to edit our film. We also used Motion for the production company. We also learnt how to use timetoast to make timelines and prezi which is used to make presentations.

Rough Cut Feedback
The feedback we received from Fergus was that our media film so far was very good and we should be proud of ourselves. Although he told us to change the clock sound as it too sudden to stop ticking when its off camera. Also because the voice over hadn't been done he didn't have a clear understanding of what was going on but once that was added it made much more sense. Adding the voice over proved to be difficult as Karen recorded it on the camera but wouldn't come up once we put the memory card into mac. So we had to start over. But we managed to finish just on time and perfected our film.
Editing 10/03/14
10th of March was our last day of editing which was very stressful getting everything done which we did not manage to do and have to come back to media workshop during lunch hours to get everything done. In this lesson we had to add the final touches and the title sequence credits and the production company part in the beginning we done this using Motion. We also had minor adjustments to make for example there were a few gaps we needed to fix furthermore, the clock part which before we had ticking whilst it was on screen we changed it and made it go on even whilst the clock wasn't on screen. It was group effort and got together to edit and finish up our film.
We had to create a production film company which we named as Break Free production. We found inspiration for our own teen films in Bratz, Easy A and Mean Girls. Film company's such as Paramount Pictures, Screen Gems and Lionsgate Entertainment would produce our teen film as Paramount Pictures are who produced extremely popular teen film Mean Girls. Also, the production company of Easy A is Screen Gems and Lionsgate entertainment produced Bratz. =

Progress Review
So far we have uploaded our rough cut on to the blog. We still need to add the credits at the beginning and also the add the voice over which is very crucial part as the feedback we received from Marrissa was that all shots were very good and clean it's just there wasn't a clear understanding of what is going on and our voice over will explain and give the audience an idea of what's going on. We changed the sound instead of using Ed Sheeran - a team, we used an orchestra type to create tension which builds up and really creates a sense of fear when the fire alarm goes off. We have Mondays lesson to finish and add the credits using motion and perfect little mistakes we may have.

Sound
Ed Sheeran - A Team

The reason why we may choose to use this song is because The title is 'A Team' this could resemble the three girls who have a connection.

Editing
27.02.14
We have started editing and putting together our opening of our film Weirdly Connected. We had to make a few adjustments and me and another member of my group Faiza had to go out and film some parts again. We re-done the still shots of clock which before were shakey also we got a close up of the character Britney on her phone with the symbol as what we done before didn't look too good. We've made many improvements and it's going well so far. Feedback we got from the teacher Marissa was that our editing was very good. However, we still have to finish editing and add music and sounds to our film and the credits.

Filming
We've had to change a few locations to make it convenient to us for example we looked at many locations to film such as shopping centers we changed it to another shopping center closer to sixth form. Also instead of showing buses as a mode of transport we used the underground.
As I couldn't make it to one of filming lessons we had to drop that character as it would've been complicated to add another. Still having dropped that character, we were prepared to film with right props and clothing to bring in. Filming was easy and we managed to get all shots we needed.
