Film
titles usually give the audience a taste of what the content of the film is to
be about. This is done either simply through the title of the film or other
elements such as the background picture of cast featured in the movie.
-Although
there is use of one type of font the two different colours used
create a contrast in the characters the audience can expect to find in the
film. The word ‘freaky’ has red in it while the word ‘Friday’ has a light
purple. This shows the two different personalities the protagonists have as red
is seen as a “too hot to handle” colour and the light purple a “plain Jane” colour-
which is a spot on description about the mother and daughter.
-Students
tend to do this when bored in lesson which gives an impression that the film is
going to revolve itself around a group of students. The harshness of the
letters being written over several times shows a sign of chaos. However the
bright colours used
in the title show an element of fun in the film.
The
pink cursive writing in the title of our teen film represent the feminine
characters in our teen film as pink is a colour usually associated with Barbie’s whereas
the red block capital letters contrast the pretty pink as the red gives a sense
of danger and also the capital letters symbolise dominance- reflecting other members of
the teen film.
Brief
outline of the opening;
The
opening of our teen film typically follows teen films as we have the girls
arriving at school (in their different forms of transport etc.) and several
shots of them on their journey to college. We then have them settling in a
class that they share but do not associate with one another. Suddenly an alarm
goes off indicating the ‘meltdown’ in which students and teachers need to leave
the building immediately as there is only a minute until the system locks down.
In this moment of frenzy everyone leaves however complications occur (bag stuck
to seat etc.) to the four girls which leaves them trapped in the classroom that
automatically locks.
Characters:
sam: Dumb, happy and careless.
Elle: Lazy, unmotivated and moody, outcast
Grace: Intelligent, careful, passionate.
Britney: stuck up, mean, vain
-We
like the idea of having a voice over in the beginning
narrating how everything happened, which we got from Easy
A
-We
go the inspiration of having a group of four girls of different personalities from bratz.
Any
scenes involving classrooms, Library, college car park will be shot while we
are in college during lesson time.
Park
location is located opposite city and Islington college therefore can do
shooting during class time
Park
location will be used while characters are travelling to the college. This
location will be appropriate for the use of either El or Grace.
White
house will be appropriate for the character of Britney as it is very clean and
polished and looks like somewhere a person from a wealthy background would
live.
All
these locations are well known parts of the city which will be used in our
title sequence when we have shots of the different places in London.
Shooting will take place during half term as we will need a slightly longer
amount of time to get to the different locations.
Sam's costume should be very colourful
to show the fact that she is a very positive person who is always happy.
Pink,
blue and white all tend to be quite positive bright happy colours just
like the character.
Character
should not be seen in any dark clothing as dark clothing is very depressing and
negative.
Grace's costume should be very sensible and
business like but still appropriate to her age.
The
costume needs to make her seem very sensible and professional which is why her
costume will be very simple and not too revealing.
Props
such as books and glasses are used to show the typical perfect student who is
only focused on her work.
Britney is the typical princess character of the
film and is very spoilt and stuck up
Costume
should contain quite expensive pieces of clothing showing that she comes from a
rich background.
Having
her dressed up in heels and expensive clothing shows her as someone who is
quite vain as she is completely over-dressed showing that she wants to be
noticed.
Elle is the outcast of the group the one who
does not fit in with the rest of the school.
Dark
colours
showing the fact that she is quite a moody miserable character
No
expensive clothing showing that she may come from a tough background
One
of the locations we are filming in is busy roads, we will need to be extra
careful handling the camera and equipment. Make sure they are firmly attached
to the tripod.
Weather-
We need to check the weather beforehand as in half term we will go out and film
scenes that are outside of college.
