*if my mumbling was too hard to understand I have written up a transcript below that includes any information I forgot to mention in the video*
I have developed so much as a media student and I would say going on this journey to create our teen film has helped me on my development. Being responsible to create everything at scratch, from the synopsis, to the characters and to locations encouraged me to step up and have the confidence to carry my group into success by producing a teen film including various elements we have learnt prior this task.
In this segment of the media course I would say editing skills (on final cut pro) need to be on point to be able to produce a good teen film. This is because making sure there are no jump cuts in the teen film needs someone who is able to spot when there are sudden gaps in the footage. Furthermore knowing the tools needed to shorten footage, slow them down/ speed them up helps with the final outcome. As I mentioned in a previous blogspost I had the opportunity to spend quiet some time editing our teen film and I found it really helpful at the fact that we learnt the basics of final cut pro previously- there was also the additional help from teachers and Katherine (member of my group) who surprisingly knew a lot about final cut. Looking back on the early stages of the course were we learnt the different types of shot I would say that they have helped a lot when it came to filming because we were able to incorporate the different types to make sure we had a variety of shot types to choose from when it came to editing.
Filming Weirdly Connected was a very fun experience because of the fact that we only had our ideas to go from and we were able to incorporate all of the ideas that we hand pondered in our heads. This does not take away from the fact that it took us about and hour of an half to even think of a synopsis, let alone a name. We chose the name Weirdly Connected because we thought it was quiet self explanatory which is a good thing when that is the only thing that the audience has to go from. It was very hard to think of a name that everyone like because of different preferences but at the end of the day we took into consideration at how much time we had to do everything and finally agreed on Weirdly Connected.
