Analysing the opening of film sequences

During an early January media lesson we learnt the order a film sequence, however it is not always the case of them going in the exact order. The position of where people included in the production of the film go varies depending on content of the film itself.

Speaking from personal experiences, when I went to go see 'DreamGirls' the cast members names where put during the end rather than the beginning - like the film 'Juno' had done. That is also another difference between films, some of them put the credits at the opening of the film while other put them in the end. One thing all films do in the opening however is put the distributor/ production company of the film, this is done for the obvious reasons that they have financed it. The film 'DreamGirls' feature big names from the music/ acting industry like BeyoncĂ©, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Hudson and that is emphasised when they are put above everyone else in the credits of the film. Them being so big in the music/ acting industry can justify the position of their names being so high in the credits. However in the film 'Spring Breakers' the producers were put before the actors, this may have been done emphasise their efforts put in the film or advertise the producers if not as successful as others in the film industry.
